About Us

James R. Peirano - Master Goldsmith & Jewelry Manufacturer has been perfecting his craft since 1976.  A keen eye for detail and never satisfied without reaching perfection, his jewelry is made to last lifetimes.

Peirano Jewelers is a family owned business located in Martinez, CA.  We believe in educating our customers as to why certain repairs are necessary, the difference between durability and hardness, the process of which your jewelry is made, why certain things happen to your jewelry (especially diamonds...they're the hardest thing on Earth, how could it break?!), and much, much more. Come on in to find the perfect gift or treat for yourself.  Talk with Jim about how to make the most of your budget and walk away with a brilliant piece of jewelry and a wonderfully honest experience.

Who We Are

Jim Peirano is a local to the area since birth. Not a Martinez native, but has lived in Pleasant Hill his entire life. He began creating jewelry in middle school, and sold his first piece of jewelry to one of his teachers! Throughout high school he attended craft fairs to sell his creations. Always a jeweler, he was also a Silversmith for Munson's Plating in Berkeley, Ca.; a very cool piece of history he was honored to work on, was a bowl from Paul Revere! He also taught Jewelry Making/Lost Wax Casting at Pleasant Hill Adult Education, and recently for under privileged children at the Crucible. A family man, fisherman, and jeweler.

Valerie Peirano is also a local to Pleasant Hill, Ca and Jim's youngest daughter. As a young girl she would go upstairs and watch her dad work on jewelry and ask a million questions! As she grew older teaching was what she wanted to do and decided to pursue an education in English and then substitute teach. She taught for the Antioch Unified School District for eight years, until the opportunity to open a store with her dad like they had always talked about arose. When the opportunity came about, Valerie took her beginning GIA (Gemological Institute of America) classes, and intends to pursue furthering her education and becoming a recognized Gemologist.
